iiPay has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Developer who wants to be part of this rapidly expanding business, providing expertise to develop new systems and to extend the capabilities of our current platforms to our goal of ‘Paying the Planet’.


Role Overview


Our highly motivated and engaged team members are at the heart of our success!  The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining the systems used by our payment teams, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of our service. The successful candidate will need to have a solid grasp of backend processing and strong knowledge of security fundamentals as they relate to web-based applications, data transformation and exchange.


The systems to be developed and supported cover the entire operational lifecycle, therefore the successful candidate will be dealing with everything from initial data exchange and loading, through processing and reporting. The main system also exchanges information with external systems and internal microservices.


The successful applicant will be expected to liaise closely with the business analysis team, test team and wider development team.


Key Objectives and Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate requires experience, skills and a proven track record in the following areas:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to perform at an elevated level in a high-growth, fast-paced, and technical environment
  • Producing design specifications from analysis documents
  • Prioritise, assign and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle
  • Design, implement, and maintain Java applications
  • Conduct software analysis, testing, and debugging
  • Improve operational efficiency for users through technology
  • Document design and development phases
  • Ensure our applications are secure and up-to-date


What we are looking for in you 

 

  • Knowledge of Java 8+ features
  • Understanding of API Development, REST, Swagger and OpenAPI
  • In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like Spring
  • Experience of Agile software development (Scrum, JIRA etc)
  • Knowledge of Git & GitLab
  • Experience of Amazon Web Services or the Microsoft Azure platform
  • An understanding of database technologies i.e. data modelling and SQL
  • Ability to produce readable, well engineered code
  • Understanding unit testing strategies
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOD)
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Continuously looking for innovative web-based solutions to solve problems
  • Experience of working in payroll or a similar industry is preferred but not essential
